Total HIPAA Hosts 31 Days of Cybersecurity – Interactive Online Event Culminating in Webinar

Total HIPAA Compliance announces its month-long event “31 Days of Cybersecurity,” taking place throughout October in honor of Cybersecurity Awareness Month. This event will include daily cybersecurity tips and action items, weekly cybersecurity-focused emails, and a panel webinar titled “Don’t Be a Cybersecurity Horror Story: Expert Panel with Q&A” at the end of the month.

Chief Compliance Officer Jason Karn will be joined by three other leading cybersecurity experts from different industries to answer audience-submitted questions. The panel includes Sean Nobles, OSCP, MBA, Founder and President of NaviSec; Neil Larkins, Co-founder and COO of Egress; and Scott Merrifield, Director of Security at OneDigital. Audience members who submit questions will be entered into a raffle to win a $100 Amazon gift card.

Karn is enthusiastic about the event’s launch: “Although we should be thinking about cybersecurity every month of the year, we’re excited to devote October to raising awareness about small steps businesses of all sizes can take that make a big difference in protecting confidential information. This is especially important for businesses that need to comply with government regulations. We look forward to making this month as fun and interactive as possible with help from our team and experts in various fields.”

Those interested in receiving Total HIPAA’s daily cybersecurity tips and signing up for the webinar should connect with Total HIPAA on social media (Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn) and visit 31days.totalhipaa.com to learn more about becoming a part of 31 Days of Cybersecurity. Yes, HIPAA protections continue long after a patient has passed away. Under the HIPAA Privacy Rule, Protected Health Information (PHI) remains safeguarded for 50 years following the date of death.
