Having Issues Playing our Training Videos?

Total HIPAA hosts all our videos on vimeo.com. This is a standard video sharing platform that allows us to efficiently stream our training to you, but as with every great plan, sometimes things go wrong. Here are a few steps you can take if you are experiencing problems playing the video training.

As always, if you have any questions, please contact us at: support@totalhipaa.com, or 1.800.344.6381.

Browsers we support:

  • Internet Explorer 10 and above (IE sometimes does not work for any apparent reason. If you are having trouble with IE, try one of the other browsers in this list, if you’re allowed by your IT professional.)
  • Chrome
  • Firefox
  • Safari

Make sure you are using the most updated version of your browser. This changes fairly regularly, updates are important not only for HIPAA security reasons, but also for compatibility issues.

Can’t view our videos?

If you have a firewall or anti-virus software enabled—or if you’re connected to the Internet through a proxy server—you may need to whitelist the domains below in order to access Total HIPAA’s videos. (If you don’t know what this means, please send this page to you IT Professional, they will know what to do!)

Is your playback choppy, out of sync, terrible quality, or whites appear as grays?

This sounds like a hardware acceleration issue. This is a technology that modern web browsers use to increase the performance of your computer. Browsers utilize it when trying to load something that requires more computing power than normal. This can range from things like online gaming to video playback.

Unfortunately, hardware acceleration doesn’t work well with certain graphics cards, especially older card models. As a result, certain issues may occur in your browser, including during video playback.

You can resolve these issues on your computer by disabling hardware acceleration in your browser. Here are directions:

Chrome:

  1. Open a new tab and go to “chrome://flags”
  2. Find “Disable hardware-accelerated video decode” and click “Enable”
  3. Restart Chrome

Firefox:

  1. Click the Firefox button at the top-right of the Menu bar
  2. Go to the “Options” menu and then click “Options” again
  3. Click the “Advanced” tab at the top, then “General” below that
  4. Uncheck “Use hardware acceleration when available”
  5. Click OK and restart Firefox

Internet Explorer:

  1. Click the Settings (gear) icon
  2. Choose Internet Options
  3. Select the Advanced tab
  4. Check the box under Accelerated Graphics that reads “Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering”
  5. Click Apply, then click OK
  6. Restart Internet Explorer 11
